Poetry in McCarthy-era Los Angeles

Join Poets and Troubadours on August 8th at the Chandler Library to spotlight a little-known slice of American literary history.

Poets in Los Angeles during the '50s were struggling with many of the same creative and spiritual issues of our time.  These poets were searching for their voice and seeking to creatively express themselves, only to encounter an atmosphere of suppression.

This spoken-word and historical presentation will also feature musical interludes to create an immersive multimedia experience.  Awake to the possibilities of modern and contemporary poetry!
